The scheduled live announcement of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards nominations has been canceled due to the ongoing uncontrolled fires in the Los Angeles area.

The nominees were slated to be revealed on Wednesday morning at the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles. Instead, they were announced on Wednesday at 7:30 am PT via a press release, as Variety reported.

“In an abundance of caution for the safety of our presenters, guests, and staff, the live in-person 31st Annual SAG Awards nominations announcement has been canceled due to the wildfires and adverse wind conditions in Los Angeles,” the Screen Actors Guild said in a statement.

“We look forward to celebrating these incredible actors and their work at the SAG Awards ceremony on February 23. In the meantime, we urge everyone to stay safe, and thank you for your continued support.”

“Wicked” has the most nominations this year with five nods, while “A Complete Unknown” comes in second with four nods. “Emilia Pérez” and “Anora” received three nominations each.

Other Hollywood events were also postponed, including the planned Tuesday night premieres of the films “Unstoppable” and “Wolf Man” and the Wednesday premieres of “Better Man” and “The Pitt.”

“Due to the dangerous conditions affecting Los Angeles we are canceling tomorrow’s premiere of ‘Better Man,’” a Paramount spokesperson said in a statement

“Our thoughts are with those impacted by the devastating fires resulting from these conditions, and we encourage everyone to stay safe and follow guidance and orders from local officials and government agencies.”

HBO and Max released a similar statement, saying, “Out of an abundance of caution due to the ongoing Palisades Fire and continued wind advisories through tomorrow, we are canceling Wednesday’s premiere event for ‘The Pitt.’ The safety and well-being of our attendees, staff, and community are our top priority. We are grateful for the first responders bravely working to protect our community, and our thoughts are with those affected. Stay safe!”

Netflix also canceled an evening event in Hollywood that would have featured the music of “Emilia Perez,” a film about a transgender-identifying drug dealer. The drama recently won four Golden Globe awards, including Best Musical or Comedy.

Multiple large uncontrolled fires fueled by the high-speed Santa Ana winds raced across Los Angeles County on Wednesday morning, prompting tens of thousands of evacuations, as The Daily Wire reported.

Up to 80,000 people were told to evacuate as the fires have burned through thousands of acres. Multiple celebrities have posted about their experiences on social media. Actor James Woods shared a video of the fires near his home. He spoke about evacuating as planes dropped water. “S***!” he said, as flames could be seen erupting.

Reality star Spencer Pratt shared clips of the home he shares with his wife, Heidi Montag, and their two children going up in flames. “Nightmare come true,” he captioned the post.
