The Foundation for the Defense of Democracies (FDD), a research institute focusing on national security and foreign policy, has identified 28 Iran-backed terrorist groups and branches in the Biblical areas of Judea and Samaria in Israel, sometimes referred to as the West Bank, where Palestinians have consistently murdered Jews for decades.

“Iran-backed terrorist groups, including, al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades, and Hamas, have proliferated in number and strengthened their presence in the West Bank in recent years,” FDD’s Long War Journal reported. “The groups have established battalions (Katibat) in Nablus, Jenin, Tulkarm and beyond. Iranian arms and funding have primarily fueled this violent escalation. FDD’s Long War Journal has identified 26 West Bank branches belonging to established terrorist organizations, and two independent armed groups.”

Terrorist groups affiliated with Hamas include Jund Allah – Tubas, which has published video of terrorists throwing explosives; Katibat Tulkarm, whose members claimed responsibility in May for carrying out a shooting attack on the Israeli community of Bat Hafer, and Katibat Aqabat Jabr, which claimed responsibility for a coordinated shooting attack with Islamic Jihad against the Israeli community of Yafit.
