An illegal alien in possession of a semi-automatic rifle and an estimated $1 million worth of fentanyl was busted by police at a Massachusetts homeless shelter, prompting an investigation of shelters across the state.
Leonardo Andujar Sanchez, a 28-year-old illegal alien from the Dominican Republic, was arrested by the Revere Police Department and was in possession of a loaded AR-15 rifle with three magazines and 10 pounds of fentanyl.
The illegal alien’s supply of fentanyl — the deadly drug that has claimed the lives of hundreds of thousands of Americans — amounts to an estimated 2.2 million lethal doses.
Sanchez was looking for a room at a hotel that had been converted to a homeless shelter when police apprehended him. He is now in state custody and slated to be delivered to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
“This individual endangered occupants of the hotel, on-site workers, public safety personnel and the community at large,” Revere Police Chief David Callahan stated. “His arrest underscores our commitment to work tirelessly to protect our community from those dealing deadly Fentanyl and possessing illegal firearms.”
The arrest of the illegal alien prompted Democrat Governor Maura Healy to announce an inspection of homeless shelters across the state as well as a review of their policies. She also directed the blame at the federal government and the “broken federal immigration system.”
“This further underscores our broken federal immigration system and the urgent need for Congress and the White House to act on a border security bill to prevent criminals from entering our communities,” Healy said.
But Healy has been a vocal opponent of President-elect Donald Trump’s mass deportation agenda and said that state forces will not assist in federal immigration enforcement operations.

The Democrat Governor said in one November interview that the Massachusetts State Police will “absolutely not” be permitted to assist the federal government in its effort to enforce immigration law against illegal aliens.
ICE agents busted three illegal aliens who are believed to have sexually assaulted children just days after Healy expressed her opposition to the deportation agenda.
One of the three illegal aliens, Guatemalan national Mynor Stiven De Paz-Munoz, was charged with raping a child and arrested by the Great Barrington Police Department. ICE says, however, that the police department did not honor a federal detainer for the illegal alien and failed to deliver him to federal custody.
