The cohosts discussed the topic at length on Tuesday — three weeks to the day since Trump won a decisive victory over Vice President Kamala Harris — because they appear convinced that Trump will use his second term in office to punish his political enemies in the same way that Biden&#8217;s Justice Department came after him.

Cohost Whoopi Goldberg kicked off the conversation, asking whether Biden should pardon his son — and got a chorus of positive responses from the audience before the others at the table even weighed in.
&#8220;Does that make him an even bigger target for you-know-who coming in?&#8221; Goldberg asked, still unwilling to say Trump&#8217;s name aloud. &#8220;It&#8217;s a — interesting question, which I pose to you all.&#8221;
&#8220;So, personally, I think I would pardon my child,&#8221; Alyssa Farah Griffin replied. &#8220;I don&#8217;t even have kids, I&#8217;d bury a body for my child, so I get it as a personal decision. I worry a little bit about the implications for the country, and I mean this not because hunter Biden affects the country but because there&#8217;s such a distrust in the powerful, the politically connected, and there&#8217;s this idea that there&#8217;s a different system of justice.&#8221;

Griffin concluded by noting that the indictments against Trump had gone away &#8220;because he&#8217;s in power&#8221; and argued that was the same.
Sunny Hostin also was in favor of a pardon for the younger Biden, claiming that he was only prosecuted because his name was Biden and ignoring the fact that the cases she had whole-heartedly supported against President-elect Trump, by most accounts, were only brought because his name was Donald Trump.

Dillon joined several of the campaign&#8217;s top officials — David Plouffe, Quentin Fulks, and Stephanie Cutter — for their first interview since Harris lost her 2024 White House bid to President-elect Donald Trump, and their post-mortem focused on the failures of the American people to see through media narratives rather than any possible faults in their own candidate or campaign.

She went on to argue that Trump — who, along with Vice President-elect JD Vance, was doing dozens of rallies and interviews — was not being held to the same standard as Harris, which she said further complicated matters.
&#8220;But real people heard, in some way, that we were not going to have interviews, which was both not true and also so counter to any kind of standard that was put on Trump, that I think that was a problem,&#8221; she said. &#8220;Being up against a narrative that we weren&#8217;t doing anything, or we were afraid to have interviews is completely bulls***, and also like took hold a little bit, and we just, it gave us another thing we had to fight back for that Trump never had to worry about.&#8221;
Dillon also complained that the questions Harris often got when she did make appearances were frequently &#8220;processy,&#8221; meaning that they did not do much to help voters get a better view of Harris or her policies.

Democrat strategist Theryn Bond is not on board with a potential third presidential run for Vice President Kamala Harris, who recently lost the 2024 election to President-elect Donald Trump and failed to launch her 2020 bid past the end of 2019.
Bond joined the hosts of Newsmax&#8217;s &#8220;National Report&#8221; on Tuesday when the conversation turned to Harris&#8217; political future — which, according to a report from POLITICO, could include either a third run for the White House or a run for governor in her home state of California.

When asked whether she thought Harris was making the right decision when she promised donors and allies that she intended to stay &#8220;in the fight,&#8221; Bond made it clear that she didn&#8217;t believe that fight should extend to another presidential campaign.
&#8220;Not to run for president again in 2028. Please don’t,&#8221; she said.
&#8220;I can’t really speak for governor of California. Californians seem to support her significantly,&#8221; Bond continued. &#8220;We haven’t yet been able to measure what that support looks like after this current run she just had. That may be the only thing that she, I guess, may make sense for her to consider, but another shot at the presidency, I hope she doesn’t, and if she is relying on those same advisers that advised her this cycle, that’s not who I would listen to.&#8221;

Bond is not the only one who&#8217;s not thrilled about a possible third Harris campaign. Democrat megadonor John Morgan also cautioned her against another attempt, criticizing her campaign for blowing through more than $1 billion and still coming up empty in 2024.
Morgan told NewsNation host Chris Cuomo that Harris&#8217; mismanagement of her campaign and money &#8220;disqualified her forever,&#8221; adding that she &#8220;cannot be trusted with the money.&#8221;
&#8220;If you can’t run a campaign, you can’t run America,&#8221; he said. &#8220;The same thing is going to follow Harris for the rest of her career. She cannot be trusted with the money, and the donors are going to be, like, ‘Where is this money?’&#8221;

The email, sent by a reporter named Emmanuel Felton, was about a racially charged incident that took place in Lawnside, New Jersey, within days of the 2024 presidential election. A local resident had reported seeing spray-painted slurs using the &#8220;n-word,&#8221; and Felton wanted Trump&#8217;s team to respond to the following section of the report:
<blockquote>What happened in Lawnside was part of a wave of racial incidents that occurred in the days following Trump&#8217;s reelection. Around the time that Hines&#8217; fence was sprayed, black people across the country were receiving text messages that said they&#8217;d been &#8220;selected to pick cotton at the nearest plantation.&#8221; And at the same time that Lawnside residents came together to discuss the graffiti on Hines&#8217; fence, a group of self-identified Neo-Nazis marched and shouted the same slur in Columbus, Ohio.</blockquote>
In the very next sentence, Felton gave away the game, however (emphasis added): &#8220;While none of these events can be traced directly back to Trump, experts say that his rhetoric has been tied to an increase in hate crimes across the nation.&#8221;

The Washington Free Beacon’s Chuck Ross reported on Tuesday that the Harris campaign shelled out two six-figure donations — $250,000 on September 5 and another $250,000 on October 1 — to Sharpton’s National Action Network. Just two days after the second donation went through, Sharpton aired a video of Harris wishing him a happy birthday — and on October 20, MSNBC aired a very friendly interview of Harris conducted by Sharpton.

Harris has faced scrutiny over finances since the campaign ended with her team over $20 million in debt even after raising well over $1 billion in just three months. Payments to celebrities for concerts and appearances at rallies have been questioned, including over $1 million paid to former talk show host Oprah Winfrey’s production team and a six-figure rebuild of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast set so that she could give the interview from Washington, D.C.

Harris spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on an initiative to appeal to black church voters. Two of the organizations, Black Church PAC and the Institute of Church Administration and Management ($250,000), are linked to Frederick Haynes, <a href="https://freebeacon.com/elections/kamalas-criminal-justice-reform-comrade-accused-israel-and-america-of-apartheid-in-fiery-sermon-after-hamas-attack/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">an anti-Israel pastor</a> who has worked with Harris for years on liberal causes.</blockquote>
Despite the lingering questions surrounding the Harris campaign’s spending habits, the VP has reportedly suggested that she would be open to running again in 2028 — either for the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination or for governor of her home state of California.

Cohost Joy Behar addressed the issue during Tuesday&#8217;s broadcast of the midday talk show, where she argued that the end of the lawfare proved that &#8220;karma&#8221; against Trump was non-existent.

Behar then argued that it would be up to Republicans in Congress — many of whom won their seats on their promise to help Trump implement his agenda — to &#8220;step up&#8221; and help Democrats stop Trump from implementing his agenda.
&#8220;I also think even though everybody&#8217;s been talking about how awful these picks are for the Cabinet, I feel like some of the Republicans in Congress are going to have to step up,&#8221; Behar continued. &#8220;Especially when you have somebody like Robert Kennedy Jr. — you sent me a thing the other day that said that Dengue Fever is on the rise, ok? I don&#8217;t think these Republicans want to get Dengue Fever. I don&#8217;t think that they want to get COVID. I don&#8217;t think that they want their kids to not get the polio shot.&#8221;
&#8220;Maybe they will step up because it will affect them,&#8221; she said.
Kennedy Jr., whose platform as an independent presidential candidate was Make America Healthy Again, has long said that he does not oppose vaccines on principle — he simply opposes vaccines that have not been through thorough and rigorous testing and does not believe that they should be mandated.

Former CBS News reporter Catherine Herridge revealed just a taste of what her former network had on <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/hunter-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hunter Biden</a> and his father, President Joe Biden, prior to the 2022 midterm elections — and she said that much of the information was either reported after an intentional delay or scrapped altogether.
Herridge, who left Fox News for CBS in 2019 and was subsequently let go by CBS in early 2024, had done some serious digging on the Bidens and specifically on the now-infamous laptop that Hunter left behind at a Delaware repair shop — but much of what she found she now says that CBS would not let her report.

Herridge explained in a brief video posted to X on Monday that her first goal had been to get as close to the primary source as humanly possible. &#8220;I wanted the cleanest copy of the laptop data, the same data that was provided to the FBI,&#8221; she said.
She went on to say that CBS had finally allowed a story verifying that the laptop was real and the data on it had not been manipulated — but that the network had not wanted to go ahead with the story prior to the 2022 midterm elections even though she had it ready to go.
&#8220;When we did the story, we did it after the midterms. I argued against that because it was ready before the midterms,&#8221; she said. &#8220;My training is that you should always do the story when it&#8217;s ready to go, you should not be dictated by the political cycle.&#8221;

Herridge then detailed a few other items of interest she&#8217;d found while studying the laptop data — and said that CBS had been uninterested in pursuing the leads she presented.
&#8220;For example, in the text messages, there&#8217;s unfortunately the use of the &#8216;N-word,&#8217; the liberal use of the &#8216;N-word.&#8217; And I thought this was worth another story but I was told that it&#8217;s not something that interested CBS News,&#8221; she said.
Herridge also noted that during a forensic review of the laptop, she&#8217;d found &#8220;half a dozen emails that were likely used by Joe Biden.&#8221;
&#8220;I thought that was a story,&#8221; she said, but CBS was unwilling to move on that without the contents of those emails — which could have taken years to get.
&#8220;There were a lot of reasons I was told not to do it, not to pursue it,&#8221; she concluded.

A CNN panel went sideways in a hurry when Republican commentator Scott Jennings pushed back on suggestions from a fellow panelist that X — now owned by entrepreneur Elon Musk — should be more strictly &#8220;regulated.&#8221;
The dustup began with complaints about the fact that Musk owns the social media platform and also has developed a close working relationship with President-elect Donald Trump, something that some on the panel found concerning.
&#8220;No one’s regulating the n-word, no one’s regulating the criticism, no one is regulating how people are treated,&#8221; former ESPN host  Cari Champion said, arguing in favor of increased regulation of the platform.
&#8220;How much government regulation of the First Amendment are you for?&#8221; Jennings shot back.
Champion pushed back, arguing, &#8220;Let me tell you something, if I came on here and I just started calling you all kinds of names, do you think the bosses would continue to let me do that?&#8221;

&#8220;I mean, it happens to me occasionally, I don’t know if you’ve watched,&#8221; Jennings dead-panned.
&#8220;But it doesn’t happen for me and I know that I wouldn’t be able to do that. There’s a level of professionalism in what we do here because we are journalists and we adhere to something, at least morally, and there is no moral compass on this thing called X,&#8221; Champion insisted.
The conversation got even testier when Jennings noted that he&#8217;d recently read a survey indicating that X was actually the most &#8220;ideologically balanced&#8221; social media platform.

&#8220;There was a former member of the Hungarian Parliament who was writing in POLITICO, who kind of talked about this effort by that government and how specific it was in terms of purchasing media specifically for propaganda,&#8221; guest host Audie Cornish prompted. &#8220;Do you hear why they’re making that connection?&#8221;
&#8220;I mean, is the concern that certain media outlets would become propaganda arms of political ideologies? Don’t we already have that in this country at a large scale?&#8221; Jennings asked. &#8220;Also I hear what you’re saying about X, I saw a survey this week, it’s now the most ideologically balanced user platform.&#8221;
&#8220;Scott, Scott, stop, it’s too early. I just sat down. I’ve only been here for two minutes, you cannot say that. Who’s the source?!&#8221; Champion protested.
&#8220;We’ve reported on this network,&#8221; Jennings fired back, referencing a report from CNN data whiz Harry Enten that showed regular X users were evenly split between Republicans and Democrats.
&#8220;It’s not accurate and you know it,&#8221; Champion insisted.
&#8220;Okay. I’ll let you make your statement, but my point is —&#8221; Jennings tried again.
&#8220;Let me frame it a different way. The site changed radically, right? So whether you think the voices are somehow more balanced now, that’s fine,&#8221; Cornish interrupted. &#8220;But no doubt Musk’s influence is profound and that you open it up and now you’re there with his opinion and he is now part of this administration.&#8221;

Conservative activist Robby Starbuck announced on Monday that retail giant Walmart was the next major business to abandon woke policies and practices under pressure and the threat of wider public exposure.
Starbuck, who has been systematically exposing major businesses that have implemented such practices, took to X and shared a video and a series of points he said he&#8217;d discussed with Walmart executives.

&#8220;I have to give their executives major credit because this will send shockwaves throughout corporate America,&#8221; Starbuck continued, adding, &#8220;This is the biggest win yet for our movement to end wokeness in corporate America.&#8221;
He went on to say that the massive retailer had actually committed to implementing a number of changes that would root out wokeness that had permeated the company culture.
Among the changes he said Walmart had committed to were:

<li>Surveys: Walmart will no longer participate in the HRC’s woke Corporate Equality Index.</li>
<li>Products: Monitor the Walmart marketplace to identify and remove inappropriate sexual and / or transgender products marketed to children.</li>
<li>Funding of Grants: Review all funding of Pride, and other events, to avoid funding inappropriate sexualized content targeting kids.</li>
<li>Equity: We will not extend the Racial Equity Center which was established in 2020 as a special five-year initiative.</li>
<li>Supplier Diversity: We will evaluate supplier diversity programs and ensure they do not provide preferential treatment and benefits to suppliers based on diversity. We don&#8217;t have quotas and won’t going forward. Financing eligibility will no longer be predicated on providing certain demographic data.</li>
<li>LatinX: Walmart will no longer use the term in official communications.</li>
<li>Trainings: Walmart will discontinue racial equity training through the Racial Equity Institute.</li>
<li>DEI: Walmart will discontinue the use of DEI as a term while ensuring a respectful and supportive environment. Our focus is on Belonging for ALL associates and customers.</li>
</ul>
&#8220;Remember, Walmart is the #1 employer in America with over 1.6 Million employees and they have a market cap of nearly $800B,&#8221; Starbuck concluded. &#8220;This won’t just have a massive effect for their employees who will have a neutral workplace without feeling that divisive issues are being injected but it will also extend to their many suppliers.&#8221;

Starbuck noted that the effort to excise woke policies and practices had impacted companies worth more than $2 Trillion in total — and that having done so before Christmas opened the door for Americans to shop for the holidays without worrying about their money funding more woke policies.
&#8220;Companies like Amazon and Target should be very nervous that their top competitor dropped woke policies first,&#8221; he said. &#8220;I think Target specifically will suffer serious sales problems as a result and Walmart will benefit.&#8221;

Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk apparently struck a raw nerve, triggering MSNBC&#8217;s Joe Scarborough and Axios&#8217; Jim VandeHei, when he issued a blanket announcement to everyone on his social media platform, X: &#8220;You are the media now.&#8221;
VandeHei and Axios co-founder Mike Allen were honored at the National Press Club&#8217;s 2024 Fourth Estate Award Gala, and VandeHei lashed out at Musk directly during his remarks to Gala attendees.
&#8220;Everything we do is under fire. Elon Musk sits on Twitter every day — or X today — saying like, &#8216;We are the media,&#8217; &#8216;You are the media.&#8217; My message to Elon Musk is: Bull****. After playing a clip of VandeHei&#8217;s comments, &#8220;Morning Joe&#8221; host Joe Scarborough seconded every word, leading his response with a slow clap.
&#8220;First of all, I&#8217;ve got to say, extraordinary content, it needed to be said, it continues to need to be said,&#8221; Scarborough said as cohost Mika Brzezinski agreed. &#8220;With all of the garbage that&#8217;s flying around on social media — lying about reporters, lying about the hard work they do, lying about the hard work editors do, lying about everything up and down about not only their alternative set of facts but their alternative set of facts about what people like you do.&#8221;

Senator Bill Hagerty (R-TN) joined Karl to discuss the situation, and he noted that Trump expected to &#8220;hit the ground running,&#8221; which was why he was attempting to have all of his nominees ready for hearings and confirmation votes as soon as he was sworn in. He also argued that Trump&#8217;s cabinet would face the kind of accountability that President Joe Biden&#8217;s never had.

MSNBC was apparently shamed into editing a Thursday headline on a piece covering the trial of illegal immigrant Jose Ibarra, who was convicted earlier this week for the brutal murder of Georgia nursing student Laken Riley.
The piece was written by legal analyst Danny Cevallos and was initially headlined &#8220;Laken Riley&#8217;s Killer Never Stood a Chance.&#8221; It explored whether or not the conclusion of Ibarra&#8217;s trial — conviction on all counts followed by a sentence of life without parole — had been inevitable from the start.
While the overall analysis — from the reasons that the defense chose a bench trial over a jury trial to the ultimate outcome of the trial and sentencing — was straightforward, the headline quickly raised eyebrows across X.
